The Stingray Returns
The C7 Story
The C7 brought back the Stingray name and delivered the most aggressive front-engine Corvette yet. With a new LT1 V8, a thoroughly modern interior, and an available 8-speed automatic, the C7 blended heritage with contemporary technology. The supercharged Z06 and the race-derived ZR1 pushed performance to new heights.
Design Evolution
The C7's styling was the sharpest and most angular yet, with a vented hood, aggressive intakes, and a squared-off rear. The interior was a complete redesign, finally matching European rivals in quality. The Z06 added a wider body and functional aero, while the ZR1 wore extreme downforce-generating bodywork.
Performance & Engineering
The C7's LT1 introduced direct injection and cylinder deactivation to the small-block, improving efficiency without sacrificing power. The Z06's LT4 supercharger brought 650 hp, and the final ZR1's LT5 pushed output to 755 hp. The C7 was the most powerful front-engine Corvette ever built.
