Corvette C6
2005–2013
Refined and Relentless
The C6 Story
The C6 tightened the C5 formula with a shorter wheelbase, exposed headlights for the first time since 1962, and a more refined interior. It also brought back the ZR1 name with a supercharged LS9 and gave the world the 505-hp LS7-powered Z06. The C6 cemented the Corvette's reputation as a genuine supercar rival at a fraction of the price.
Design Evolution
Exposed headlights and a cleaner, more sculpted body modernized the C6's look. The wide-body Z06 and the even more aggressive ZR1 added visual menace with carbon-fiber panels and larger intakes. The Grand Sport name returned late in the run, blending Z06 styling with base-model powertrains.
Performance & Engineering
The C6 pushed the LS architecture to its peak. The LS7's 7.0 liters and 505 hp made the Z06 a track weapon, while the ZR1's supercharged LS9 produced 638 hp and was the most powerful Corvette yet. Magnetic Ride Control matured, giving the C6 adaptive damping that balanced comfort and performance.
